A film festival organized by OUTSIDE THE FRAME, and hosted by the Portland Institute for Contemporary Art, featuring work by houseless youth. Using workshops and the film-making process, participants build technical skills while also documenting the houseless experience and community from their perspective. Youth filmmakers can then take these films out into the world to spark discussion and shift the way houseless youth and other marginalized communities are seen and perceived.
The cover for this program shows their world, both in front of, and behind the lens; focusing on a very real and challenging provocation: ARE THE DREAMS OF THOSE WHO SLEEP ON FEATHERS MORE THAN THOSE THAT SLEEP IN THE DIRT?
